Such an easy fix. After drying out a soaked 3G the home button was the only thing that would not work. replaced the part and the phone is as good as new.

I broke the connectors for my home button when I was replacing an LCD screen. Thought I was screwed for sure, but was able to heat up the adhesive enough to pry the glass loose and put in this replacement. Worked fine and saved my phone!

I ran over my iPhone 3G with the front wheels of my cousin’s Jaguar after it was pulled off my belt getting into the passenger side. The glass on the front was shattered and the Home Button connecting wires were severed – which I discovered after disassembly. I bought the replacement digitizer glass on eBay for $18 and when I discovered the Home Button was useless, I feared I would have to buy the whole digitizer and LCD screen which includes the button for $70 or so.
I couldn’t believe my good fortune when I found that Amazon had the button by itself for about $10!!
I was able to assemble it per instructions included with the glass digitizer kit and the phone works perfectly now.
Amazon rocks!!

Worked like a charm. $40 fix ($10 for the part) instead of $199.00 at Apple. I saved $159.00!! woo hoo

Home button was very easy to install, and works great. In order for my old home button to work, i had to press down VERY hard. But, after i installed this new home button, it works just like new. Great product!
