I was really expecting a great product.
I received it and it was about 75% charged. Plugged it into the wall to charge to 100% before trying it out.
Once that was done, the moment arrived to try it out. plugged my iphone 3GS…iphone started charging….then within seconds…shifted to trickle…and after 10 more seconds…no more charging. But the iphone was still at 50%.
Tried multiple times to remove the iphone and re-insert it, (could be that it was not seated properly) same story every time, no matter how I tried to re-insert the iphone into the case.
All in all, A bit expensive for 10 seconds charge.

I have to say that the support is very active on this product. The reseller (newTrent) has looked into the issue and I has found that an auto shutoff feature may be the cause. They are producing a IMP550 w/o that feature. I am eagerly expecting this to see if that fixes it. I am raising the item rating to 2 stars. (as I still do not have a working unit) But very impressed by the support.
——UPDATE June 11 2010—–
As promised Newtrent sent me a new one, with the appropriate fixes. Magic: the product now works as advertised with my 3GS,
charge is going through until 100%, then keeps going. Overall the product now works fine, and I have to say again; great customer support.

I ordered the IMP550 on Friday and received it on the following Monday. Happy with the speedy shipment. It’s light weight, attractive and very easy to use. It pretty slim also. Just a bit thicker than an iphone case. I love that about it. I bought it mostly for an upcoming trip that involves a 15 hour flight. It definitely will be a great item to take on a long flight. But I plan on using it every day because it is so easy to use. I’ve charged my phone with it every day so far and no problems. Great find!!!

I was a little wary of ordering this, since there were no other reviews here. But their other product, the IMP500, is highly rated, so I took a chance, and I’m very glad I did.
The case fits around your iPhone, snugly but not too tightly. It’s about the size of two extra phones, so you probably wouldn’t want to carry it around in your pocket (although you could). It’s made of a soft rubbery plastic, with a felt lining. The design is well-thought-out; all of the phone’s controls are accessible, and there are holes for the camera, mic, and speaker. You can charge it using the AC adapter that came with the iPhone, or connect it to your computer.
It seems to be able to give your phone about three extra charges. This is perfect for a long plane ride, or if you’ll be away from electricity for a while. I’m definitely taking this with me on my next trip.

Does everything that it says. I got at last 3 full charges from the battery. Lifesaver on cross country flights.

Received this charger a couple of weeks ago. Great product. Has a very high capacity. Able to charge my iPhone 3G 4 to 5 times. Have tried a Kensington charger in past but only got 1 charge out of it. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.
