Came with a adapter plate for my 4th gen Ipod nano. Comes installed with a adapter plate which must be removed 1st if installing a different one. When they say the batteries allow you to take it from room-to-room, that is about all the battery life you get. I have some standards for anything that advertises battery operation; I think that one AA battery should be able to power the clock for a couple of weeks. I don't know how long fresh batteries will last while playing music, but I have put in a fresh set on two different occasions and they have run out in 48 hours while only the clock was on. I think that that if the clock will drain six AA batteries in 48 hours, that is a major design flaw.
