I had this for 4 months and it worked OK for the time I had it. It charged and worked with my ipod and so on. Then it is out of warranty and the battery overheats and almost explodes. EPIC FAIL. It may have something to do with the fact that it went through the wash 2 3 months ago but I dried it out and took it apart to make sure there was NO WATER in it and then put it back together EXACTLY AS I TOOK IT APART WITHOUT messing up ANYTHING. It worked fine for 3 months after and THEN it overheated just now.

I really wasn’t impressed with this battery extender. In the package you get the battery extender and a USB male to mini USB male cable. The cable is cool because its one of those cable organizer ones. The device is small and it does work as advertised. It did work with my iPhone 3G and 1st gen iPod nano.

What I didn’t like about it was that it did not include a wall adapter or a car adapter. This means you have to charge it using a USB port on your computer (or if you have an extra one wall adapter). I wouldn’t have given this a negative review except you cannot sync your iPhone or iPod using this device even if it is connected to your usb port.

Probably not a big deal to most but I was disappointed in buying it.

Although I should have seen it from the picture, I was disappointed that I could not use the earphones while the device was plugged into the iPod,

I got this to keep in my purse in case my IPhone battery gets low and I am not near one of my chargers.

It appears to work just as advertised.

I have not bought this item, but may do so in the future. I say may because I wonder if it is as versatile as say, the Energizer type backup battery, that uses regular AA batteries that you can buy anywhere instead of a propietary one that only charges by plugging it in the wall or car. Especially in view of the reviews that say that its power lasts less that expected.
