These gadgets really need to be improved. The ones I've used are just OK. Not great. I wouldn't pay this much.

I'll stick to my 3 main gripes.

First, the steering wheel remote. Although conceptually a sound idea, once strapped on you'll notice this new addition all too clearly as your hands keep hitting it over and over again during turns. I like the idea of intuitively managing my iPod via the steering wheel, but there is a reason car-makers add this to the wheel itself. This remote is very intrusive to driving, and potentially distracting and unsafe during fast maneuvers.

Second, the battery panel within the remote was practically impossible to open initially. This made the remote useless since the battery does not come pre-installed and me, VERY frustrated with this step given the wheel remote was the main reason I wanted to try this product.

Lastly, although this product comes with an extension cord for cars without an in-dash port, it really is only meant for those that come with one. For cars like mine with an AUX port under the armrest, you'll end up with a tangled mess of cables everywhere, from the cigarette plug, around the gear knob, and under the armrest, back to the iPod. This is particularly noticeable given the thick, inflexible fabric material that makes up these cables.

If you already have an audio cable for your car, I'd stick with that, and find a separate cheap charger on Amazon. Don't waste your money on this.

This item has a desirable design for use in the car. The remote, which attaches to the steering wheel, is very convenient. The issue that I have come across with these types of car kits has always been sound quality. The sound while using this unit was better than most I have tried in the past, yet it still left much to be desired in the way of actual sound quality. I would definitely use this kit, but I would still keep an eye open for improved kits.

The most important thing to realize when buying this item is that's it's designed for an aux jack that many newer cars are placing in their center console. If you don't have that then this is worthless. Secondly I found the lighter adapter lose at best. Who knows with repeated removals if that will get worse. Only time will tell.

I did not realize that this product requires that the car have a direct auxiliary port. Since my car doesn't have one, I haven't been able to use it.
