I was looking for a charger, but was turned on by the idea of using my car speakers for my phone conversations, and thought the iPod radio feature was a nice bonus without the extra auxiliary hook-up. What I found, however, is that the sound quality of the iPod radio feature does not match the direct iPhone – AUX input via cable sound, the volume has to be turned up too much, and it is just as much futzing to connect as the direct wire. But the phone is the real disappointment — I have to turn up the volume on both the iPhone AND the stereo to even barely hear the other person. And I discovered that the direct iPhone – AUX input via cable does the same thing with better sound. Just use a cable with 3.5 mm male jacks at both ends, plug one end into the iPhone and the other in to the AUX input on the car stereo and VOILA! You have your iTunes on the car stereo, and when the phone rings, you can pick up the conversation through the car audio as well! I’d just do that, and pick up one of the cheep chargers and save the money.

This device was flimsy (southern word for shotty). I did not like the way it mounted in my car and the static was too much to bear. I returned it shortly after I received it. I bought a different brand from Wal-Mart and it works great.

I ordered this through a 3rd party and was scared at first that I had received the old model, the $40 Flexpod normal which does not contain the improved features the plus does. I was about to call but then I examined the package closely and it had Flexpod+ on the bottom near the bar code, and on the front package in small lettering. Just FYI, don’t accidentally buy or be duped into the old model.
The FM transmitter ROCKS and is 10x better than my old crappy $2 one. Buy this before it climbs in price again! it was $30, the $40 and now it’s $50!

This actually started out as a great product and I was going to post a stellar review until it died on me. It worked fine for 2 weeks of short drives, really well, in fact. Then I’m all excited because I’m going on a long road trip and I can catch up on some podcasts. I thought wrong. It started to short out and screech annoyingly through my speakers. I thought it was a fluke. No. I opened it up and the wires inside were frayed. I had to completely redo it myself. Now it works great. The only thing is I use it with an iPhone and every once in a while you’ll get that familiar “phone near a speaker” noise. Only happens to me when I’m passing through rural areas, but I would suggest you simply put it into airplane mode.
Good product,
but buyer beware.
