This small device plugs into your cigarette lighter port of your car. The other end attaches to the iPhone. There is an illuminated panel which shows the FM station the device broadcasts to.
Nice things about this item: it doubles as an iPhone charger, easy to use, and compact. No need to remove your car’s stereo or do any electrical work.
Sound quality isn’t that great. My brother has a similar unit and says it depends on your car’s antenna. My antenna is on the outside. There is quite a bit of static that goes in and out. At other times, the sound is pretty clear. It’s hard to tell what factors contribute to this. Sometimes the device will sound better on a frequency that already has a station broadcasting on it.

As FM transmitter this unit is a complete waste of money. There is high pitch squeal that occasionally makes it impossible to listen to but sometimes it goes away. What really makes this worthless is the channel changes automatically. As I’m driving down the road listening just fine for about 10 minutes then the transmitter just starts changing channels and it’s nearly impossible to fix this while you’re driving 70 on the freeway. It wasn’t just a freak thing wither, it does it constantly! Always after a few minutes it will just start changing channels. The only reason I gave this unit 2 stars is because it does charge my phone. Thank goodness for Sirius, I can’t listen to my iPhone but I can listen to Howard just fine.

I used this with my IPod Nano 4th gen. I set it to 87.9 fm, it sounded great and the reception stayed consistant.
