The sound lacks depth. Sounds like one of the original transistor radios. At least the ear buds stay in your ears.

So reading the reviews, comments vary from you get what you pay for to these are junk. This item gets at least 1 star because they function as decent headphones. What they don’t do – actually function as a microphone! There are physical hardware restrictions that prevent these – or any headset – from functioning as a microphone on the first gen iPod touch. The connection does not exist in the first gen iPod and no software app will get around that. I took off 4 stars because the seller should clarify that these headphones are not fully functional with the first gen iPod touch.

Great headset. Clear audio and decent microphone recording. Does not work for 1st Generation Ipod Touch, even if its 2.2 OS. Economical and reliable.

Not sure why others are reporting a problem with this product working on their iPod Touch 2d generation. I simply plugged it in and it works fine on mine. Voice audio quality with the mic is excellent according to a discerning person I called. Sound quality of the earbuds is fine for Skype calls and listening to Comcast remote voicemail when away from home, but mediocre at best for listening to music–too flat, not dynamic sound quality at all. But for what I wanted it for, it does a fine job. And the price keeps going lower and lower on Amazon! Would certainly recommend it for phone and voicemail, but be sure to keep another set of better buds at hand for music.
