I was very excited to purchase this product, thinking that I could use the auxiliary port to make hands-free calls with my new iPhone 3G, and charge it at the same time through the cigarette lighter. BE FOREWARNED. YOU CANNOT. I have a brand new 2008 Honda Civic with an auxiliary port, and when I attempted to make calls, the bluetooth feature, which should be activated when the iPhone 3G is plugged into the auxiliary port, was NOT activated. I knew, however, that the problem did not lie with my car, because when I plugged the iPhone into the car with my own auxiliary cord–not the Kensington one–it worked perfectly. As a result, I, of course, concluded that I simply received a defective product. So, I proceeded, although skeptically, to ask Amazon to send me a replacement for the defective product. They did, and, of course, when I used the replacement, it did not work either. Now, the deficit surely isn’t on my part. I am kind of a smart guy, seeing as though I have a PhD, and am a university professor, and it’s most assuredly not my car’s fault (as mentioned above), so I can only conclude that this product, as I said in the title, simply does not work. DO NOT BUY IT.

So, i ordered this being an audiophile and was hoping for a “handsfree” phone solution. I was looking forward to the clear direct sound. Note that no one has mentioned that the PHONE part of I-Phone doesn’t work, just the I-Pod part of the I-Phone. Sure it charges and you can see the maps and gps, but I was not pleased. Oh. Any BTW, one arm-holder thing works and one arm broke while taking it out of the box~!
Not pleased. I’ll be returning it.

Works as advertised, …but wait! There’s more! Adds a whole new layer of sound to your lovely mp3s: RF intererence. If you like hissing with your Steely Dan, you’ll love this poorly-engineered item!

I was pretty excited about this piece of gear. It arrived @ 10 am and I got it to the car quickly.
First thing I noticed is that the upper joint between the gooseneck and the holder was loose… so no matter what I did, the iphone was too heavy and it flopped over to the side. bummer! So the phone won’t stay straight but maybe I can prop it up [I thought].
Maybe the saving grace would be the remote so I started a song from the iphone and tried to push the >] next song button… ouch! it starts fast forwarding. The crazy thing gets into some kind of a loop that was jumping between regular play and fast forwarding over and over and over. Junk.
I don’t know who engineered this and who built it, but I hope it isn’t American. It is pure junk and was headed back to Amazon by 2pm the same day.
I highly recommend you DONT buy this.

It doesn’t work. If you expect this product to work — don’t. It won’t charge your iPod and it fits badly into the 12 volt plug in your car.
