When I bought my 3G 20GB iPod, this part was included. Fortunately when I sold the iPod, I forgot to include it, because we are getting a Video today, and now I learn this item is not included. Way to go Apple…I believe it is called fleecing your customers. At least there is an alternative way to charge these…
Very useful item, I agree, as much as I hate paying more, I also hate burning out a high dollar piece of electronics (iPod/Cell Phone/PDA/Laptop) because some company had monkeys putting them together in a remote jungle in Indonesia or something.
I have had too many friends lose cells in particular because of the $5 charger they found online or at the flea market.

Almost all the reviews concertrated on how useful this thing is – no question about that. I give it one star becuse you can buy similar products for up to 1/6 the price.

Don’t let apple continue ripping you off, don’t buy their products. Search for other USP power adaptors. Search under “iPod USB travel adapter. Apple doesn’t have a right to rip you off after you paid hundreds of dollars for your iPod.

The reason I am giving this unit a 3 star is the fact that i still need the usb cable supplied with the ipod unit to charge it.
By ordering an upod charger, i expected it came with its own cable usb to ipod plug. However, this unit comes with only the adapter without a cable.
Apple are squeezing their customers for money in return for minimal accessories.

We travel alot, so this seemed like a good purchase idea. We charged our iPod mini’s and that was easy enough, but then we realized it erased our music and audiobooks. We tried to reconnect at home on our computers, and the library would no longer export to the minis! It’s bad enough the music and all was erased while we were on the road, but then not to be able to put it back on is adding insult to injury. We use Windows Home XP, maybe there’s an issue there, but in any case, it’s a major hassle and not worth the purchase price. We’re sending it back.
